September 2012

Busy month so far, and two new websites going live in a week. We’ve been working for some time with both clients, getting their websites exactly as they wanted. Mid Sussex South Council for Voluntary Service is an independent charity operating from Burgess Hill. Working with Kingfisher Design and Print, they now have a new logo, site design and content-managed website.

Handprinted has been trading online since 2003 and was set up by Shirley, a textile artist and teacher. Earlier in the year, we set up the Handprinted Blog (ramblings). Their new online shop is now live, and sells printing and dyeing supplies to home and trade users. The website was developed from designs and concepts by Pixie Doodle.

August 2012

This month we’ve been accepted as members of Nominet, one of the world’s largest internet registries with 10,000,000+ domain names. Nominet maintains the register of .uk domain names and we now have our own domain tag (STREETS-AHEAD).

We just welcomed another customer to Streets Ahead, having worked with Pixie Doodle to design and built their new website. If you’re looking for a French apartment in the mountains, winter or summer, visit www.livethepiste.co.uk. We also have several more new websites nearing completion and for implementation in August and September.

April 2012

In the last few days, we’ve launched a redesigned Foxy Lady Drivers Club site and Foxy Blog. We’ve also created the first website for M D Collins & Sons, a local electrical contractor and solar supply and installation company based in West Sussex. Both websites have been developed out of our collaboration with graphics designer Pixie Doodle, under the joint name of Street Doodle.

Early 2012

We are well overdue for a catch-up on recent projects, so here goes. The end of 2011 and start of 2102 was a sad time as we lost two close family members within a few days, and this set us back several weeks. We're slowly catching up, and the following has happened since the last update.

We have recently migrated all our customers' sites to new, faster servers that will handle our growth and provide even more reliability for customers. We also developed a number of new sites and have taken on a lot of new customers and hosting. We created an online shop for Solent fish, specialising in fresh fish & frozen seafood and supplying restaurants & caterers in Hampshire and West Sussex. We have another local community magazine site. All About Ferring joins the other 'All About' sites from Holt Publishing. Scene 4 Women is networking group located on the Sussex Coast. Their website and business directory has just gone live.

In addition, we've taken over the website and email hosting for several new customers, improving the reliability over their past hosts. In some cases, there are plans to enhance and redevelop their sites - and for others we are just providing more reliable hosting and email. So, welcome to Polar Home Improvements, Absolute Anywhere Taxis, HandPrinted Blog, Elegance Beauty, Farnham Electrical, Active Facilities Services and Chattermingle.

Recently completed work includes a new website for Air Engineering Controls Ltd. They specialise in the design and development of both standard and customised pneumatic control equipment. There are now lots of ways to donate to Crawley Community & Voluntary Service since we've added some site updates. We've also just completed a website for January Consulting. They are a specialist professional practice providing consultancy services in transport planning, traffic engineering and road safety.

JUNE 2011

Oxon Conversions are a building company specialising in loft conversions, based in Oxfordshire. They needed a website to show off the different types of loft conversions they offer, and to include case studies of their renovations, extensions, bathrooms, kitchens, and newbuilds. With design from Kingfisher Design and Print Services, Streets Ahead has just completed their website.

MAY 2011

As a sister website to All About Angmering, the website for All About Rustington has now gone live, expanding the reach of the 'All About' Group of publications. A few weeks ago we also completed an online shop for Starkeys Friendly Foods. Hand-made meals, frozen & delivered in the Portsmouth area with around 30 dishes currently available from Ruth & Lisa.

MARCH 2011

The website for All About Angmering went live this month, so we've decided to feature it in our portfolio. This gives us the opportunity to give you a little more background on the job. So, feel free to wander around our portfolio pages and see what you can find.

Despite the recession, we've never been busier. Perhaps people see the Internet as a way of continuing to market their business at an affordable rate, and therefore decided not to cut back in this area? Its been a busy year for new websites and redesigns.

We built a website for our local village. It has rapidly grown, and been very well received and supported. There's also a new design for Pixie Doodle, one of our graphics designers. Earlier in the year, we built online shops for Pixie Doodle Gifts and Art Print Shopping.

We're currently working on websites for a local magazine, a building & loft conversions company in Oxfordshire, and an engineering company in East Sussex. Based on our order book for the coming months, it looks like 2011 is going to be a year for online shops.

2009, and earlier

During 2009, we created a new website for the Society of Consulting Marine Engineers and Ship Surveyors and for Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group, who provide emotional and practical support for asylum seekers and immigration detainees. We also created a site for Pixie Doodle, design and graphic illustration. Adding to our charity portfolio, West Sussex Volunteering Network is a network of Volunteer Centres, working together for the local community. Another local business is Carters Gates, who are a long established company supplying garden gates and sheds in Sussex. Finally, we built a new shop for an existing client, providing quality art prints online at Art Print Shopping.

Is your ISP (Internet Service Provider) as reliable and consistent as you want? And can you easily reach them without paying a fortune on premium rate support lines? Earlier this year, we switched to Zen Internet and rate this as one of our best decisions. To find out more about Zen, visit the Services area of our website.

Amazing!! Our Cancer Buddies Network website was mentioned on the BBC News Home Page! An article, published in the Health section, described two members buddying to help beat cancer. Website hits were huge and the site gained around 20 times the average new membership in a day. Although not on the BBC News Home page now, you can still read the cancer buddy story in the BBC News Health archives.

AUTUMN, 2008

We added a couple more sites to our website portfolio. Take a look at how we developed new sites for FOXY Choice and Holmes Estate Agents. In November, we also completed a website for FEMAS (Federation of European Maritime Associations of Surveyors and Consultants) and added some enhancements to the website of Crawley Council for Voluntary Service.

Three of our customers won awards in September. Steph and Paul Savill (FOXY Lady Drivers Club and FOXY Choice) have won a Home Business Couple of the Year award. Relocation Unlimited have been told they've won a Daily Mail Property Award for 2008. And Executive Relocation Plus have won Daily Mail Property Awards for the second year in a row! And finally, we completed a website for a graphics illustrator we've worked with and are happy to recommend. Please visit the site and look at the work of Jo Greenlees and Pixie Doodle.

SPRING, 2008

With design from Kingfisher Design and Print Services, Streets Ahead completed the next phase of website development for Grangers Fishing. Their website initially went live a year ago, just as their ‘bricks and mortar’ shop opened. Now their website shop has opened in April and www.grangersfishing.com/shop allows their customers to purchase online too.

Together with design from Kingfisher Design and Print Services, and as part of a corporate rebranding, we completed the new website at the start of the year for Relocation Unlimited.

We also (finally!) found the time to build this new website for ourselves. Like everyone who's customer-facing, we kept putting it off so we could spend more time with our customers. At last, we found the time and here it is. We hope you like it.

One of our customers, Executive Relocation Plus, has received awards in the Best UK Property Finder category of the Daily Mail 2007 Property Awards. They were judged overall winners for London and runners up for South East England. The new website for Crawley Council for Voluntary Service (CCVS) went live in October, launched on the same day as their AGM.
